Brev fra Rio Preto

Things started changing in the middle of the year. Five people started the discipleship way walking close to us. In July, we moved to a better building, with a better looking, better placed and cheaper. This changing made all of us happy. In August we had 30 people at one service. In September three new members were included in Church. We also baptized two children and their mother. Latter on, we had a meeting with all the members and we took some decisions together. We restarted the cell group, which all had missed. We are planning some evangelistic activities together for the next weeks.

One of the most important decisions was about the changing of the time of the service. It happens now at 9:00am on Sunday. We noticed that during the morning the frequency has increased and the number of visitants as well. Everybody fells more motivated. We even manage to start the service “at the right time”. Every Sunday there is an fair (open market) happening just beside the church building and it extends for five blocks. The traffic of people is good, contrasting with the evening time, when the neighborhood gets desert and even dangerous.

The cell group restarted with much energy. We are seeking God intensely, even fasting together. We are planning better too. It is good to persevere in the vision God gives us, despite the hard circumstances. We believe God is guiding us in everything and it has been refreshing to see the kingdom of God happening among us each time a little more. Until the end of the year, we will have a weekend retreat for the church and we will invest in more retreats during 2010. The Lord has guiding us this way.

It was so special to get such special visitors from Norway some days ago. It was wonderful that they came to get to know us and pray for us and not only that. The group from Bymenigheten, in Sadnes came to make a special partnership with us. We are praying for each other, exchange experiences, ideas, and letting us get strength and grow from this partnership.

God is taking care of everything. I praise him for his work. He has filled us with his hope and boldness. Thank you to all of you who have supported us with precious prayers. Stand fast praying specially for all the new visitors we have: Alécio, Valnei and Rejane. We want them to persevere seeking God and being part of our fellowship.
